Description This black LW-PLA filament from colorFabb is perfect for printing RC planes, cosplay items and other lightweight parts. Printed objects are very light but retain good strength. In addition, they are easy to cut, trim and sand. This filament has a diameter of 1.75mm and provides a matte finish. The filament starts to foam at about 230°C, increasing it up to almost 3x in volume. Due to the increase in volume, the weight can be reduced by up to 65% compared to normal PLA.

Description This high-quality Ultrafuse Pro1 Tough PLA filament from BASF is a guarantee for even faster and more consistent 3D printing. The extra strong and versatile material is as strong as ABS (one of the strongest filament types). Yet you can print with it just as easily as the very user-friendly PLA.

The black filament has a diameter of 1.75mm and an ideal print temperature of 220°C. For best results, print with a heated bed of 60°C. This filament does not shrink during cooling. The ultra-strong PLA is also virtually insensitive to warping (warping of the print).

The Ultrafuse Pro1 Tough PLA is particularly suitable for industrial applications where a lot of force is exerted on the printed object. Think of printing tools or parts for your 3D printer.

Description Glow in the dark PLA from Spectrum is based on PLA with the addition of a phosphorescent pigment. This will cause the filament to light up after exposure to light. The added pigment particles of this filament do not affect the properties of the filament. The pigment ensures that your 3D print will emit light after exposure to a light source. The intensity of the light can be adjusted by adjusting the wall thickness and infill. This filament is 1.75 mm, comes in the color Blue and has 0.5 Kg on the spool.

Tip: To make your 3D print emit a stronger light for a longer period of time, you should expose the print to the light for a longer period of time.

Please note: Glow in the dark filament has an abrasive effect in the nozzle, which causes it to wear out faster. It is therefore recommended to replace the nozzle more often and/or to choose a harder stainless steel nozzle or hardened nozzle with a minimum size of 0.6 mm.

PLA is also made from renewable resources such as corn starch and sugarcane, giving it a more environmentally conscious profile while emitting very little odour during printing, which makes it suitable for indoor use. Additionally, PLA is rigid and strong enough for many low stress applications and comes in a huge range of colours and specialty blends (including PLA+, matte, silk, and wood filled variants) offering versatility for both functional and aesthetic projects.

What technical specs and printing settings does PLA require?

PLA has straightforward technical specifications and is one of the easiest filaments to set up for reliable printing – making it ideal for first time or beginners only just getting into 3D printing. Most PLA comes in either 1.75 mm or 2.85 mm diameter, with 1.75 mm being the most common across consumer printers. It prints at relatively low temperatures, typically needing a nozzle temperature of around 190–220°C, depending on the brand and printer. PLA can be printed without a heated bed, but many users still prefer using one set between 50–60°C for improved first‑layer adhesion. PLA does not need an enclosure because it experiences very little warping compared to materials like ABS. Since PLA is hygroscopic, it should be stored in a dry environment to prevent moisture absorption, which can cause bubbling or poor surface finish on your prints. For post‑processing, PLA can be sanded, primed, and painted, and it can be annealed to increase heat resistance.
