Most PLA comes in either 1.75 mm or 2.85 mm diameter, with 1.75 mm being the most common across consumer printers. It prints at relatively low temperatures, typically needing a nozzle temperature of around 190–220°C, depending on the brand and printer. PLA can be printed without a heated bed, but many users still prefer using one set between 50–60°C for improved first‑layer adhesion. PLA does not need an enclosure because it experiences very little warping compared to materials like ABS.
